SOLOS were proud again this year to be one of the sponsors of the annual Staff Excellence Awards at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust.

Always a rewarding experience it’s great to see the people who make such a difference in caring for patients being recognised for their achievements. This year we were delighted to see a few of our own temps up on stage winning awards. Hayley Bristol who started as a SOLOS temporary worker at Kingsmill Hospital  had this to say:

“SOLOS Consultants quickly assigned me to a role at King’s Mill Hospital in the Communications Department. I spent around 10 months here, during this time I was given a vast amount of roles and responsibilities in the team which led me to become lead on many projects. My skills began to develop very quickly and I gained trust within the team.I was solely responsible for many tasks, including weekly bulletins, being in charge of the joint email account, membership, consultant database, charity news and updates. I became capable of liaising with managers, executives and able to form all user emails, plan events and even write my own press releases – bringing into play my Journalism qualification I had gained at university some years prior. My main accomplishment whilst working in the Communications Department was my assistance in the major annual corporate event – Staff Excellence Awards. I played a significant role within all the admin side of the event – but also helped with developing the promotional video, organising shortlist photographs, contacting and taking ownership of the raffle task, writing promotional material for the event and attending the event to help with hospitality on the night. I was publicly thanked by Chief Executive Karen Fisher and gained a real sense of achievement and belief that I am at the beginning of a bright and promising career within the NHS”
